It is a high quality, water based, flame retardant, designed for the treatment of wood and wooden components in buildings and other structures either under construction or being restored to protect against burning and ignition.
The flame retardant is highly certified on the variety of wood species: from solid wood (soft- and hardwoods) to plywood, from exotic to modified wood types.
Wooden products treated with Holz Prof (HR Prof) comply with EU Construction Products Regulation and offer customers the opportunity to apply CE marking on treated timber.
It is the perfect fire retardant solution for both internal and external application.
Holz Prof (HR Prof) is colourless and odourless and, if required, can be over-coated with paints, varnishes and other decorative materials.
The unique patented technology permits Holz Prof (HR Prof) to help extend the lifetime of treated wood, transforming it into a more fungal and Blue stain resistant substrate. For even greater wood protection against external conditions and ageing we advise the treatment by Holz Bio.
Once absorbed into the surface of the wood the fire retardant combines chemically within the cell structure but does not form a surface finish, which allows the wood to breath naturally.
THE RESULT OF THE TREATMENT IS A NATURAL, RESISTANT AND FIREPROOF WOOD WITH EUROCLASS B-s1, d0
The product is certificated according to EU Regulation No 305/2011 (Construction Products Regulation). The development and manufacture are approved to ISO 9001- 2008.
The efficiency of Holz Prof (HR Prof) fire retardant is tested and approved internationally by well-known accredited laboratories and certification centers and meets the classifications of:
The product is easy to use and does not require a protective finishing coat. It is not harmful for humans, animals and the environment. It is important to follow the directions for use.
The application can be done with brush, roller or spray: usually 3 coats that should be applied at intervals of minimum1hour. Or it can be applied by an immersing procedure in tanks or under vacuum conditions in an autoclave.
Consumption: 300 g/m2 (270 ml/m2) on most softwoods and hardwoods, on Western Red Cedar 400 g/m2 (360 m/l per m2) in order to ensure the depth of impregnation of 2,0 - 4,5mm.
The substrate to be treated must be dry, free from dust, bark, paints and varnishes, and from other contaminants.
Do not process frozen wood and do not mix HolzProf (HR Prof) with other products. It is possible to paint or over-coat with decorative materials once the substrate has dried sufficiently.
The drying times are dependent on absorption of the substrate and drying conditions (temperatures and humidity). The approximate drying time is 24-72 hours at +20 C/65 relative humidity.
